Careers

Senior Epidemiologist & Collaborative Surveillance Specialist

Lead epidemiological research proposals, outbreak surveillance frameworks and ethics (IRB) clearance protocols with partners across countries.

About the role

You will lead our epidemiological research, from proposals and outbreak surveillance frameworks to institutional review board (IRB) ethics clearance, working with academic and humanitarian partners across several countries.

Key responsibilities

  • Design large-scale quantitative evaluation frameworks for epidemic surveillance and public health interventions.
  • Write policy briefs, peer-reviewed manuscripts and technical reports for global health stakeholders.
  • Coordinate multi-country research operations with international academic and humanitarian partners.

Working arrangements

The type of engagement and its terms are flexible, and we agree them with each shortlisted candidate after an initial conversation. The work is remote. Depending on the project, we may occasionally ask you to work in person, for example at our offices in Kigali or Addis Ababa, with a client, or at a field site. We agree any in-person work with you in advance.

Partners and consultants

We partner with public health consultants and research institutions that share our commitment to timeliness, high-impact deliverables and ethical rigour.

Equal opportunity

We are committed to inclusive research that serves marginalised communities fairly, and to representation across all dimensions of diversity in public health leadership.
