Careers

Biostatistician

Write analysis plans, clean and model study data, and turn results into clear, reproducible outputs for impact evaluations and health economic studies.

About the role

You will run the statistical side of our studies, from analysis plans and data management to modelling and reproducible reporting. You will work closely with our Lead Biostatistician & Data Pipeline Architect.

Key responsibilities

  • Write statistical analysis plans and sample size calculations.
  • Clean, manage and analyse survey, trial and routine health data.
  • Fit regression, survival and multilevel models with reproducible code.
  • Build R Shiny dashboards and reports for clients.

What we are looking for

  • A master’s degree or higher in biostatistics, statistics or epidemiology.
  • Strong R skills; experience with SPSS, Stata or REDCap is an advantage.
  • Experience with survey or clinical data in low- and middle-income settings.
  • Careful documentation and version control habits.

Working arrangements

The type of engagement and its terms are flexible, and we agree them with each shortlisted candidate after an initial conversation. The work is remote. Depending on the project, we may occasionally ask you to work in person, for example at our offices in Kigali or Addis Ababa, with a client, or at a field site. We agree any in-person work with you in advance.

Partners and consultants

We also welcome applications from independent statisticians and data consultants who share our commitment to precision and reproducible work.

Equal opportunity

We are building an inclusive workplace where diverse analytical perspectives make our work better. We support the professional growth of data professionals from every background.
